Charlie Kaufman

Can I just say that I think Charlie Kaufman is one of the most brilliant and fresh writers in showbusiness today? Granted, the movie I just saw wasn't purely written by him, it was based upon the book by Chuck Barris, BUT it was still brilliant! I own every single one of his movies that are available on DVD... For those of you keeping track they are (in chronological order):

I want to see Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind too. In fact, I bought Confessions, Human Nature and Adaptation without having seen the movies first. All I have to say is that they are absolutely brilliant. ALSO! George Clooney did an amazing job directing. The photography is extremely well done, along with the lighting. I love, love, love the mood that is present. In fact, it very much looks like something I might do.

Anyhow, I highly reccomend Confessions... MOST EXCELLENT!

I Think I'm In Love!

I just finished watching Matchstick Men. It was much better than I expected. Of course, with Nic Cage, it's hard to go wrong. But can I just say I totally fell in love with Alison Lohman? Holy cow what a cutie! Nevermind that she plays a 14 year-old in the movie, she's really 25! And isn't that what really matters? YUMMY! And then I found out she was also in Big Fish, which is probably why she looks familiar. Of course in Big Fish, she was a 1950's kind of wholesome girl. In Matchstick Men she was the 2000's kind of wanna be punk girl (at least at the end)... *YEAH!*

Okay... so I've figured out a trick to limp the old computer along (and this is gonna sound really sad for you techies out there). I've got a Remote Desktop session open from the new computer to the old one. I've not had time to tinker with the new system to get it on the 'net yet, so this is my make-shift solution. At least I can get around the keyboard and mouse not working! The system seems to function just fine through the terminal. Which is a good thing. Its still slow as hell, but at least it's useable... ;)

Anyhow, darkroom tomorrow and then I'm gonna play with the computers all evening! Yippee! I get to play geek for a while.

Hellboy

Oh yeah! I saw Hellboy on Friday! We did a team-building outing at work. A decent movie, if you like comic-book type stuff. Not nearly as good as say, X-Men or X2, but definitely an enjoyable watch. Good to see in the theater for the sound effects. The sound editor did a fantastic job. Not over-done, but there's so much there, that it really almost overwealms your hearing sense. It goes perfectly with the over-the-top story, and premise (which is acceptable for a comic-book movie). Anyhow, just thought I'd mention that.

Will this week ever end?

So, after going to bed early last night, I was awoken by the stupid pager at 11:30, and had to deal with an issue until almost 3am! So much for a full night's sleep. Let's hope tonight is better.

I watched A Guy Thing again tonight... That movie just cracks me up, and of course it has Julia in it... :) Right near the end, Jason Lee's character is talking about how marrying Karen is the “easy” thing to do. Its odd how that relates back to what I was saying yesterday with that quote from the book. I wonder if subconsiously that's why I decided to watch this movie again? Hmm... This has definately been a week of introspection for me. Hmpf. More on that some other time, I think.

Oh, and can I say its just really weird to be reading a book where the main character's name is VERY VERY similar to an ex-girlfriend's name (First and last if you'd believe that!). So, naturally, i've been thinking of her lately... probably a bit too much. I actually haven't talked to her since about 2 days before her wedding... Last I heard she was living in San Diego.

Anyhow, pray for a full night's sleep for me! Toodles!
