Tonight in class we voted on the 3 images out of the group that would represent our class in the 2004 Student Art Show. I can honestly say I'm disappointed that none of my images made it. What disappoints me the most is that we did a “show-of-hands” vote, and my image got the least votes. How sad. I'm not at all disappointed about not being chosen so much as not being chosen by such a wide margin. There were a LOT of REALLY good images to choose from, and first we narrowed it down to the group's favorite for each artist, and then voted among those. The one they chose, I don't think was my strongest image, but hey... oh well! Better luck next time I guess!
So, let's recap what I've been doing since my last post:
- I went to Alamogordo to visit my aunt.
- While in NM, my aunt took me out shooting two different days, and I ended up with 13 additional rolls of b/w
- I shot 2 sunset rolls in color, as well as an additional color roll while I was doing the b/w (It's handy to have a second camera body around when you need it!)
- I shot 4 rolls of color portraits of my aunt, cousin and dad (I even think I surrendered the camera for a couple shots of me!)
- I processed all 13 rolls of b/w on monday night
- I did all those contact sheets last night, as well as about 25 work prints
- We had a progress review tonight, and I think the images I showed are what my project will end up being close to.
- I'll get the color back tomorrow, and I can't wait to see how those portraits turned out!
- I talked to Mr. Bullethead himself on Thursday just before I headed out the door to NM! (after how many years?)
I have so much on my mind right now that I need to find some serious time to type it out. I thought of a great intro to a story the other day, and I”m so bummed that I didn't write it down. I thought of it in bed, and by morning only small shreds of it were left... DAMN ME!
Speaking of Damn Me... I need to type out the lyrics for a Kate Russo song that I can't seem to get out of my head... Maybe I'll have time to do that at work tomorrow... maybe i'll actually bring the CD home... I love this song! More on that tomorrow...
Anyhow, time to hit the hay... It's been a REALLY long week, and I can't believe its only Wednesday!
